Writer's Note — Maria Volkov

Guangzhou's humid subtropical climate is one of the wettest among major Chinese cities. I visited during the Canton Fair in April and found the weather pleasant, but the summer months bring intense heat and frequent typhoons. The data clearly shows October to December as the optimal window, when the humidity drops and the city's famous food scene can be enjoyed in comfort.
